What is the Saturday Morning Meeting?

we love both the universal and the local church.

for that reason, we seek to unify all Christian women around the essentials of the Christian faith*, while at the same time strengthening the relationships of women from both within and beyond their own local assemblies.

we will do this by welcoming women from local churches in the Tri-State area to an inter-denominational Saturday morning women’s fellowship meeting.

this fellowship will have two key components:

  • an inter-denominational worship, prayer and teaching session which includes a brief spotlight on international mission to women.
  • followed by small group breakout sessions in which the women will be given the opportunity to fellowship, pray, and discuss the morning’s teaching with each other.

women will be provided with a set of discussion questions relevant to the morning’s teaching. These questions will have been formulated to build on the truth of God’s Word, foster love and loyalty for God and each other, and strengthen them in their commitment to endure in faith together (Hebrews 10:36-39).

in the breakout session time women will be given the opportunity to discuss the questions with the other women present at the meeting. Women can use the breakout session time discussing the teaching with:

the women that they came with (these might be close friends or other women from their own local assemblies Hebrews 10:23-25.)

women that they may or may not know that have shared life experience. These groups will be led by the one voice leaders (e.g. family and parenting of young children with Jackie Manning, anxiety and depression with Carrieann Harris, divorce and living single in purity with Sandy Savoia, Worship and Intercession with Deborah Bontrager, etc. etc. 2 Corinthians 1:3-7.)

women will also be given the opportunity to take the teaching home and share it with women that were not in attendance at the Saturday morning fellowship.

*to know what we believe are the essentials of the Christian faith see the Statement of Faith under What We Believe.

What is the expected commitment level for women that attend the one voice Saturday morning meeting?

there is no commitment.

one voice is a ministry seeking to build women up in their faith and encourage them in their love for both God and one another, not saddle women with another drain on their already busy lives. We want to provide a matrix in which holy friendships can thrive, an atmosphere that is distinctly feminine and Christo-centric. Therefore, if women come alone or with friends; can only come once, they arrive late, or if they have to leave early – we welcome them all as Christ has welcomed us, for the glory of God (Romans 15:5-7 ESV).

with that said, we do ask the women that attend our meetings to help us make one voice a safe place for all women by abiding by our seven house rules.
